Chelsea Gagnon holds a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University.
She has experience working with clients with a broad spectrum of physical, cognitive, and psychological impairments, including stroke, traumatic brain injuries, musculoskeletal/ orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia.
Chelsea has completed in-home assessments to improve safety and self-management, implemented cognitive and behavioural strategies, and advised on environmental modification in order to improve function. She also has experience providing mobility assessments, wound care and palliative treatment.
She is dedicated to maximizing client’s full potential and achieving high quality outcomes using an evidenced-based and holistic treatment approach. Chelsea is passionate about working collaboratively with clients to provide them with individualize strategies to live meaningful lives.
She believes in continuing education to enhance her clinical skills for the benefit of her clients. Chelsea has specialized training from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy on Anxiety. She has also completed training in best practices regarding trauma assessment and interventions for first responders and military personnel with PTSD, goal setting and action planning for self-management, bringing together life after traumatic brain injury and concussion management. She is in the process of becoming a certified administer of the Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP).
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys exploring parks and farmer’s markets in Ottawa, as well as going to spin classes.
