Kaitlyn holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa and is a 2017 graduate of McMaster University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. In addition to this, she is an active member within the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
She has worked as part of a multidisciplinary team in both institutional and community contexts to provide services to paediatric, adult, and geriatric clients. She has provided services to paediatric clients with a variety of conditions including anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, failure to thrive, mild traumatic brain injury, and developmental delay. Additionally, she has experience working with adults and geriatric clients with stroke, progressive neurological diseases, spinal cord injury, lower limb fractures, amputations, total joint replacements, cardiac and pulmonary disorders, brain injuries, cognitive impairment, anxiety, and depression.
She has provided services in the areas of motor recovery, cognition, perception, self-care, seating and mobility, driving, home safety, energy conservation, hospital discharge planning, community engagement, school/work accommodations, financial management, medication management, falls prevention, printing, assistive technology, sensory processing, behavior, feeding and swallowing, and developmental milestones.
She has Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Motivational Interviewing Level 1 Certification, Chedoke McMaster Stroke Assessment Certification, and BrainFx Administrator Certification.
