Lisa has diverse experience working in both physical and mental health rehabilitation in community practice.
Lisa worked as a Kinesiologist prior to completing her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She brings a wealth of skills to her work and the Modern OT team. Her professional experience includes: cognitive rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, behavioural management, geriatrics, and mental illness. Her schooling in Kinesiology has provided a strong foundation in anatomy and biomechanics. Further training has developed a strong skill set in assessing client’s mental health, cognition, and interpreting how this all contributes to a person’s overall function.
She is committed to continued professional development and has been certified in the following areas:
- Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP)
- Cognitive Interventions for Adults with Acquired Brain Injury (Level Two)
- Advanced Brain Injury Rehabilitation (Level Two)
- Neurorehabilitation: Assisting Recovery and Function in Everyday Life Following Brain Injury (Level One)
Lisa has also completed the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Crisis Prevention Institute training, and PRISM Medical- Level 1 Moving and Handling Residency.
An Ottawa-native, Lisa enjoys living in a big city that doesn’t quite feel like one. She is an avid ringette player, having played for nearly 23 years.
