Physical & Cognitive Demands Analysis

The occupational therapist completes a Physical and Cognitive Demands Analysis at the worksite in order to document the essential tasks of the employment position and analyze and describes the physical and/or cognitive and psychosocial demands associated with the work tasks. The assessment includes an interview with the employer/direct supervisor, observation of the tasks being performed and measurement of the job and equipment/materials used. Photographs are included to assist with the clarity of the written report. These reports are used to help match an individual’s functional capacities to a job, facilitating a safe and successful return to work.
