Professional Summary

Andrea obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Physical Education from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University in Kingston. Since graduating in 2009, she has worked in a variety of practice settings, assessing and treating both the pediatric and adult populations. Andrea has experience working with adults suffering from severe mental health difficulties, individuals recovering from workplace and motor vehicle accidents, and children with various neurological and developmental disabilities. In addition, she has experiencing working with infants and children with feeding challenges.

Andrea has a passion for promoting health through enabling community participation, providing client-centered care, and utilizing a strength-based approach to treatment and help individuals achieve their true potential. She is a certified yoga instructor and incorporates this into her OT practice.

Andrea has a drive to continually grow and develop as a practitioner and regularly participates in continuing education courses. She has training in: neuro-developmental treatment, sequential-oral-sensory approach to feeding, postural control, sensory processing, self-regulation, attachment disorder, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, recovery-focused treatment, and non-aversive strategies to assist individuals with autism and challenging behaviours.

Andrea is always up for adventure and loves to travel. She likes to be active and enjoys cooking, social gatherings, community events, and being outdoors with her family.
