Professional Summary

Beth earned her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science, specializing in Biological Foundations of Cognition, at Carleton University. This educational experience immersed her in the intricate facets of cognition, offering her a diverse array of courses spanning neuroscience, psychology, linguistics, computer science, and cognitive science, which she carried forward to her occupational therapy practice.

Beth works with individuals experiencing barriers to daily life due to physical, cognitive and mental health problems. Her clients include individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, Veterans adapting to life after service in the Canadian Forces, individuals returning to work after long term disability, and Seniors facing challenges with daily activities due to changes in health. Prior to joining Modern OT, Beth gained experience with adults and older adults in acute mental health, hospital rehabilitation, and community settings. These experiences have afforded her the opportunity to cultivate her skillset in addressing various physical, cognitive, and neurological challenges, including stroke, brain injury, dementia, and depression.

Beth is a dedicated lifelong learner, fueled by her eagerness to seek and seize opportunities that allow her to augment and uphold her expertise as an occupational therapist. She has completed training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and dementia inclusive care. Beth is enthusiastic about helping people achieve their goals and engage in meaningful activity in creative ways, with a primary focus on enhancing their independence and overall quality of life through personalized therapeutic interventions.

In her free time, Beth enjoys gardening, golfing, spending time with friends and family, and staying active.
