Groups
Our groups provide an opportunity for individuals experiencing common difficulties share their experience in a safe and supportive environment.
The groups are led by an occupational therapist in a small group format, of 6-12 participants. Education is provided around the group topics, and practical activities are used to explore and apply this new information.
There are many benefits to group therapy. Feedback from participants has indicated that discussion in the group setting provides for a deeper understanding of issues. Regularly talking and listening to others has helped members put everyday problems into perspective.
Diversity is another important benefit of group therapy. People have different personalities and backgrounds, and they look at situations in different ways. By seeing how other people tackle problems and make positive changes, a whole range of strategies become available to try.
