OT Skills for Return to Work – Series of Education Workshops

This program is a series of education workshops developed for people who are off work due to a health condition.  The series provides occupational therapy strategies to address physical and mental health challenges that commonly arise when routines are disrupted by being off work.  The education series can be accessed at any time in a person’s disability claim.

The education series is led by an occupational therapist and is offered in a virtual format for ease of accessibility to participants.  It is open to multiple participants, which provides an opportunity for enriched discussion, learning from the experiences of each other.

Session Topics

  1. Understanding physical and mental health / Examining current habits and routines
  2. Sleep hygiene and SMART Goals
  3. Balanced Eating / Hydration – Home and workday strategies
  4. Role of physical movement and leisure activity for physical and mental health
  5. Building healthy routines – Planning, pacing, prioritization of activity
  6. Identifying core values and applying values to SMART goals

Program Length & Dates

6 weeks, 1.5 hours per session

Sessions will run once per week on a consecutive cycle.  Participants can join at any time, and may choose to join single sessions, or the full 6-week cycle.

Thursdays – 9AM – 10:30AM (recurring) – English

Thursdays – 11AM – 12:30PM (recurring) – Francais

Cost

Full program (6 sessions = 9 hours) – $1012.50

Single sessions (1.5 hours) – $202.50

Format

Virtual on MS Teams platform.  Small groups, approximately 6-10 participants.

While the program is designed for delivery in a small group setting, sessions will not be cancelled if there is only one participant on a particular day.
