Professional Summary

After completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics and the University of Ottawa, Kate Berry obtained her Clinical Master’s in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University in 2003. Since that time, she returned to her hometown of Ottawa where she has been providing community-based occupational therapy intervention in the auto and long-term disability sectors.

Kate Berry has worked with clients with a broad spectrum of acquired and congenital physical, cognitive and psychosocial impairments including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, dementia, depression, anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Examples of interventions include safety, accessibility and Attendant Care assessments, assistive device prescription and education and the implementation of stress management and return-to-activities of daily living programs employing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) frameworks.

She is a Certified Ergonomic Specialist and has experience completing ergonomic assessments and Job Site Analyses in a vast array of office and industrial applications. Kate also has a passion for pediatrics and has completed Handwriting Without Tears training.

Kate is also certified to administer the Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP); an evidence-based standardized activation program that targets psychosocial barriers.

Kate is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
