Professional Summary

After completing an undergraduate degree in Psychomotor Therapy from Saint Joseph’s University in Beirut, Leanna moved to Ottawa to obtain her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Ottawa.

Leanna has worked with clients of all ages; however, her practice is now mainly directed to the adult and older adult population. She has experience working with individuals presenting a variety of medical conditions, including those recovering from physical or mental health illness, brain injuries, chronic pain, neurological disorders, and spinal cord injuries.

Prior to joining the Modern OT team, Leanna worked in home care where she completed assessments to promote safe and independent living at home. Her involvement consisted of enhancing mobility, accessibility, fall prevention, and addressing skin integrity issues. Leanna has since broadened her scope of practice to include interventions targeting independence in activities of all areas (self-care, productivity, and leisure) at home, in the workplace, and in the community.

  • Assistive Devices Program (ADP) authorizer.
  • Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP).

Leanna believes in a client centered and collaborative approach to therapy. Her goal is to allow clients to reach their full potential, thrive in meaningful activities, and optimize quality of life. In her spare time, Leanna enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as exploring new hiking trails.
