MODERN OT – COMMUNICATION REGARDING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK

Given the rapid developments of COVID-19 in Canada, Modern OT is reaching out to our clients, colleagues, and referral sources to let you how we are using telehealth to ensure continuation of services while ensuring the health and safety of all.

We would like to assure you that the well being of our clients and our team is top of mind.  We are aware that times like these may cause additional stress for individuals, and we are making all efforts towards continuing important care and lessening the impact of this stress on everyone’s health.

Telehealth involves the use of information and communication technologies to deliver health-related services when the provider and client are in different physical locations. According to the World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT), telehealth may be used by occupational therapy practitioners for evaluation, intervention, monitoring, supervision, and consultation as permitted by jurisdictional and professional regulations and policies governing the practice of occupational therapy.  Telehealth at Modern OT is provided through our secure, PHIPA compliant, online telehealth platforms.

If you are an existing client, your clinician will contact you personally to make these arrangements.  New referrals can be made through our office, 613-792-3461.  We are open Monday – Friday, 8:30AM – 4:30PM.

We recognize that some cases require in-person visits.  In these cases, we will continue to implement an enhanced screening to ensure the well being of all involved.

If you have any further questions or suggestions as to how we may work better together under these unprecedented circumstances, please feel free to discuss them with your therapist, or you are welcome to call us directly.

Thank you in advance.  We wish you all health and wellness.
