I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Acadia University in 1996. I have worked in the field of rehabilitation since 2003, and as a Rehabilitation Consultant/Case Manager in Eastern Ontario since 2008. I coordinate rehabilitation for individuals with catastrophic injuries, including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), amputations, chronic pain, and soft tissue injuries, as well as complex orthopaedic injuries. I also have extensive experience in mental health. I have experience implementing return-to-work programs in long-term disability, completing vocational assessments, and providing vocational counselling. I am an expert witness with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in providing rehabilitation and vocational opinion.
I hold the Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) through the Vocational Rehabilitation Association, as well as the Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP) designation through the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals. I am a member of the Canadian Assessment, Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment Society and have completed The Fundamentals of Psychometric Assessments: Understanding Validity, Reliability and Psychometric Assessment: Selection, Administration, and Interpretation of “B” Level tools through Yorkville University in 2018. I am qualified to complete Level B psychometric testing, which is utilized during vocational assessments and evaluation.
I completed my Life Care Planning education through the University of Florida. Canadian certification by the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC) was obtained through completion of the educational requirements, as well as submission of a completed Life Care Plan for review and successful completion of a written examination.
My background in rehabilitation and training in Life Care Planning allows me to thoroughly assess the client’s needs and to prepare comprehensive reports for clients to represent their long-term needs resulting from permanent impairment and disabilities.
