Kerry Meyer

Kerry Meyer - Modern OT

Professional Summary

Kerry was born and raised in Ottawa, and she completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in English at Trent University, Peterborough. After about 10 years of working in the telecommunications industry as a technical writer, she took a risk and tried her hand in other sectors, including non-profit and municipal. As a result, Kerry holds much experience working within the community as a volunteer and event coordinator, city counsellor’s assistant, and concierge at a local retirement home.

Kerry has since entered the field of occupational therapy, wanting to give back to others after being the primary caregiver for both of her parents who became ill within the same timeline. Experiencing first-hand how one’s life can change in an instant, and how that change continues to impact patients and loved ones, inspired her to enter the field. Kerry is passionate about supporting people as they learn to function in new ways to the best of their abilities, and to live the best quality of life possible.

Kerry is very family-oriented, treasuring her time with her two daughters. In her spare time, Kerry enjoys baking cookies for her family, walking the family dogs, catching the latest action movie, and weight training.
