The occupational therapist completes a Physical and Cognitive Demands Analysis at the worksite in order to document the essential tasks of the employment position and analyze and describes the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial demands associated with the work tasks. The assessment includes an interview with the employer/direct supervisor, observation of the tasks being performed, and measurement of the job and equipment/materials used. Photographs are included to assist with the clarity of the written report. These reports are used to help match an individual’s functional capacities to a job, facilitating a safe and successful return to work.
