Professional Summary

Adele obtained her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where she also completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Her academic background has supported her understanding of health and development across the lifespan and informs her holistic and client-centered approach to care.

As an occupational therapist, Adele is passionate about supporting individuals in their day-to-day functioning by addressing physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental challenges. Her clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including school-based paediatric therapy, adult developmental services, and community-based rehabilitation. During her time at Bloom Skills Centre, she contributed to the development of a social communication group for adults with intellectual and developmental exceptionalities—a program that continues to be delivered today. Adele also gained experience in mental health, cognitive rehabilitation, and insurance navigation through her role at Modern OT.

Adele has a particular interest in working with individuals adjusting to changes in function and roles due to illness, injury, or disability. Her work is guided by values of empathy, advocacy, and a commitment to collaborative, strengths-based care. She has pursued ongoing professional development in areas such as trauma-informed care, non-violent crisis intervention, administration of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and completion of workshops on best practices for care for various conditions. Adele is also a co-author on a published study related to parent-led interventions for preterm infants and has presented her research at Queen’s Paediatric Research Day.

In addition to her clinical work, Adele has been involved in community initiatives through her work with the Kingston Humane Society, where she helped develop resources for individuals experiencing barriers to pet care. She has a longstanding interest in the role of Animal-Assisted Therapy in supporting emotional well-being and connection.

Outside of her professional role, Adele enjoys spending time outdoors, volunteering, and connecting with friends, family, and her community.
