Professional Summary

Heather graduated with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2006 from Ithaca College in New York. Since graduation Heather has worked in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs in the United States and Canada. Her background includes providing assessment and treatment to individuals experiencing spinal cord injury, amputation, orthopedic injury, stroke, chronic pain, mental health injury, and, primarily, brain injury.   She also has a special interest and skill set in vision following neurological impairment.

Heather is passionate about providing evidence-based and compassionate care. Heather’s experiences and training allow her to handle complex files. She currently provides OT services to individuals with a variety of injuries and completes in-home functional assessments, home safety and accessibility, ergonomic intervention, return to work, and medical legal assessments.

In 2021, Heather obtained certification for the designation of Certified Medical Expertise, and in 2022 completed the C-Cat certification course presented by the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators at the Functional Observer level for occupational therapists.

Heather is a life-long learner and enjoys attending continuing education to expand her skillset. Heather leads an active lifestyle with her three children and husband in the Kingston area.
